This eye-catching set was given to me by my youngest sister. I collect glass pitchers, jugs and beverage sets and have far too many. The medium is a nicely weighted blown glass done in a vertical swirl pattern with clear glass applied handles; unpolished pontil. Its style and form are reminiscent of many shapes and colors made by West Virginia glass companies in the mid-century. Blenko-inspired, the set’s color is Cyan and depending on lighting, hues range from turquoise to electric blue to aquamarine, gorgeous, isn’t it? The jug measures 8” x 7” x 5 ½” H/W/D (width taken from spout tip to handle tip); capacity 84 oz.; each cup measures 3½” x 4½” x 3” H/W/D (width taken from lip to handle tip); 14 oz capacity apiece; together the set weighs 5 lbs. 6 oz. In excellent condition with random, indiscernible air bubbles, not uncommon in glass, as air bubbles can get trapped inside of the heated glass during the blowing process. Maker and origin are unknown. Captivatingly beautiful set to bring out when entertaining and a must have on anyone’s list who likes unique and different.
