The rare antiquarian book, La Plante et Ses Applications Ornementales with Art Nouveau Aesthetic Movement illustrations by nine artists was … Read more The rare antiquarian book, La Plante et Ses Applications Ornementales with Art Nouveau Aesthetic Movement illustrations by nine artists was originally published in 1896 under the direction of Eugène Grasset. This is an art lithograph print of one of the original botanical plates, titled "Gourd" featuring the vine and fruit of this vegetable plant. The artist is Verneuil. Main colors are green, rich aubergine brown, and orange with touches of lilac purple, yellow and blue.

The piece is in very nice vintage, near perfect, condition with just a small trace of light toning around the edges. Because this was originally bound in a portfolio, the left-hand binding side may have some very slight irregularities, and we note a teensy dot of red ink at the top left corner. We make mention only for accuracy's sake, as framing will likely cover any signs of age that may be present. Please review photos.

Entire sheet measures 11" wide x slightly less than 15" tall. Side edge borders outside double black lines are 1" each long side, 0.5" at top edge, and 1.25" at bottom edge including the titling in English, French and German.
