The rich dark brown bronze metal is carefully engraved throughtout with "Cloud" pattern and Lie wen - when looked at closely one appreciates the detailing in this piece. Two areas of floral style open work. Traditonal Chinese/Asian in style, somewhat Gothic, somewhat Japanese.
Almost black in colour, ebony.
Condition is excellent - some verdigris and patination. The qulaity of this piece is very high, similar to the quality of Japanese bronzes.
A very impressive table or floor candle holder or candle stick.
