This is a vintage pair of decorative bookends. An English, walnut book rest by Gordon Russell Limited, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1930.
A dashing bookend set, with overtones of Russell's influence by the Arts & Crafts movement
Gordon Russell (1892-1980) was one of Britain's most revered furniture and utility designers
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Walnut shows fine grain interest and deep caramel hues
Engraved with the Gordon Russell maker's mark to the inside fascia
Dressed to the base with a protective leather pad
