This Fiorucci very rare vintage 1970's New Wave Italian fashion Postmodern porcelain Pop Art ashtray is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The porcelain ashtray is made in Italy in the 1970's by Richard Ginori Porcellana Ariston for the Italian fashion brand Fiorucci./ The white porcelain ceramic ashtray features a Postmodern style passenger airplane graphic and the Fiorucci brand logo design details in a beautiful vibrant multicolor Pop Art palette.
The world famous Italian fashion brand Fiorucci was founded in 1967 in Italy by Elio Fiorucci. The first shop exposed Milan to the styles of swinging London and American classics such as the t-shirt and jeans. By the late 1970's and early 1980's this would be reversed, and the New York store would become famous for the fashions it introduced in The United States.
In the early 1980's the Fiorucci boutique in New York CIty was the epicenter of the New Wave Postmodern fashion scene. It was the place to be, and referred to as " The Daytime Studio 54 ". It attracted trendsetters including Andy Warhol, Jackie O., Truman Capote, Debbie Harry, and a young Madonna, among many other creative and well known people.
The rare vintage Fiorucci porcelain ashtray measures 5 3/4" W X 4" D X 1" H.
It is in excellent " like new " clean vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling, and no signs of use. Please see photos for condition reference. It is now being offered here for an excellent price. less
