A very unusual round Chinese bowl that is hand decorated throughout with flowers, carp fish and scroll work in dark … more A very unusual round Chinese bowl that is hand decorated throughout with flowers, carp fish and scroll work in dark blue against an off white / celadon glazed background.
The edges of the bowl are indented and the base with a single and unusual ruffle skirt above the foot area. The base has another concentric ring level with the foot inside the outer ring.
The foot area is highly decorated with scroll or wave work, a six character 'Ming' seal/signature and inner rim with two concentric blue circles.
This bowl is based on an earlier Chinese design, Ming and is early/mid 20th. Century at the latest.
Base /foot smooth to touch.
A most unusual bowl that could be used or displayed - an interesting piece to observe.
