This David Hockney rare vintage 1981 Pop Art lithograph print custom framed "Les Mammelles De Tiresias L'Efant Et Les Sortileges Parade " Paris exhibition poster is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The lithograph print poster is published by The Galerie Claude Bernard Paris, printed in France in 1981 by Imp. Moderne Du Lion-Paris, in an unnumbered limited edition on the occasion of the " Pientures, Gouaches Et Crayons De Coulers Pur Les Decor Et Costumes De Representations Donees Au Metropolitan Opera House De New York " exhibition.
David Hockney ( B. 1937 ) is an English painter, draftsman, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer. He is an important contributor to The Pop Art Movement of the 1960's. He is considered one of the most influential British artists of The 20th Century. His artworks have commanded greater popular acclaim than any other Contemporary British artist. The Pop Art Expressionist style artworks have been the subject of more than 400 solo exhibitions. Art works by Hockney are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
The lithograph print poster was created in 1981 for an exhibition of Hockney's work as a stage and costume designer for numerous theatrical performances, held at The Galerie Claude Bernard, in that same year.
This poster print is an excellent example of Hockney's focus on theater during the late 1970's and early 1980's, a period that saw him undertake a large body of work on behalf of The Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. His designs for the 1981 showing of French opera by composer Francis Poulnec's " Les Mamelles De Tiresias ", based on the play by French Surrealist, Guillaume Apollinare, depicted in this poster, earned Hockney great praise from press and critics for his dazzling scenic art and witty costume design.

It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern turquoise aqua blue matte eggshell finish wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
