The rich dark brown bronze metal is carefully engraved through out with "Cloud" pattern and Lie wen - when looked at closely one appreciates the detail in this gorgeous piece. Two areas of floral style open work. Traditonal Chinese/Asian in style, somewhat Gothic, somewhat Japanese.
Rich very dark bronzy brown in colour.
Condition is excellent - some verdigris and patination. The quality of this piece is very high, similar to the quality of Japanese bronzes.
A very impressive table or floor candle holder or candle stick.
