This Marcel Duchamp offset lithograph print large custom framed Modernist poster " Coeur Volant " 1936 - 1967, is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The offset lithograph print poster is published by The Moderna Museet Modern Art Museum in Stockholm Sweden, printed in 2018 by TMG Sthlm. It features an iconic artwork image originally created by Duchamp in 1936 for the cover of The Cahiers D'Art Revue, titled Coeur Volant " ( Fluttering Hearts ), copyright Succession Marcel Duchamp / Bidupphovsratt 2018.
Henri Robert Marcel Duchamp ( 1887 - 1968 ) was a French American painter, sculptor, and writer whose work is associated with Cubism, Dada, and Conceptual Art. Duchamp is commonly regarded, along with Picasso and Matisse, as one the three artists who helped to define the revolutionary developments in the arts in the opening decades of The Twentieth Century.
He radically subverted conventional practices of art making, challenging notions as the hand of the artist and the sanctity of the art object, establishing himself as a leading member of the international Avant-Garde. Duchamp's concept of wanting art to not only please the eye but also serve mind had an immense impact on 20th and 21st Century Art, and he had a seminal influence on the development of Conceptual Art.
The offset lithograph print large framed Modernist museum poster measures 28 1/2" W X 39 5/8" H X 1 3/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern brushed matte finish dark charcoal gray metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
