A beautiful highly sculptural ashtray with a series of round openings that give depth and interest. The deep rich glaze of the ashtray is ringed with a series of alternating lines that are further reinforced by an atomic modern pattern.

The tapered form of the ashtray punctuated with a series of holes is executed in a very sensual manner that heightens one’s awareness of its overall three-dimensional shape. The form is masterfully conceived both in terms of its galactic style pattern and circular planetary like openings which are fully glazed.
This is the work of a master potter. The ashtray exudes a power and individuality that is found in the time-honored techniques developed by the best of the Mid-century Modern potters. The ashtray is marked with a series of numbers in addition to what appears to be the artists mark or initials.
