It is a matted original gouache costume fashion design that dates to the 1950s. It is a work by a Bordeaux couturier, Jean-Pierre Chansard. Note his initialed signature in lower left and note the documentation showing his official professional letterhead dating to the 1950s. The drawing features a cabaret dance performer in her costume. The work is done in white, green and black gouache on thick pale pink colored stock. Take a minute to study the details of her eye mask which is dwarfed by the extra wide brimmed black hat done in a particularly thick and rich gouache. The long white fur stole is lush and sensuous as it wraps her neck and drapes in layers to the floor. The entertainer with her outstretched gloved arm engages with her viewer. This is a sexy, elegant and fun fashion illustration! Pristine condition. It deserves a special spot in your home décor as it will draw attention. 10 x 14 inches in size. A minor crease is in the lower left corner is hidden by the initials and is hardly visible. The image comes matted in a white 16 x 20 inch custom mat that works in a standard size frame. Please allow time for custom matting. (See companion cabaret designs offered in our shop.) less
