Some variations in the coloring and loss of finish. Set was professionally reupholstered many decades ago and is at least the 2nd time they were upholstered. Looks like some repairs were made at that time. They have an old world look that could be used as is. Wear and some impressions on the fabric (maybe professional cleaning would help.) Original spring could be re-worked. We are assuming and pricing them as if they will be re-upholstered. The claw feet are particularly well done.

Wood is the original finish. The set has an old world feel and could be used without changes. However, there are some variations and loss in the wood finish and the upholstery has been on in for many decades and does show wear. Fabric looks like red leather. Would rebuild the original springs if reupholstered. Chairs seem surprisingly solid for the age.

This is an original set and not a later reproduction. They date from about the 1890's. Hard to find the amount of ornateness that are on these American claw foot chairs. Must have been extremely expensive when new.

Armchair dimensions: Height is about 43 3/8 inch, width is about 26 3/4 inch, and length is about 21 inch, and seat height is about 21 3/4 inch.

Side chair dimensions: Height is about 41 3/4, width is about 19 1/4inch, and depth is about 21 1/2 inch, and seat height is about 21 inch. less
