Early 20th Century Italian Baroque Walnut and Olive parquetry, sometimes called Oyster Burl or tortise shell design, style bureau plat / writing desk; a kneehole drawer flanked by drawers on cabriole legs. Five drawers in total. Marquetry in excellent condition. Absolutely beautiful piece of work. Photos do not do her justice.
These desks are very rare stunning pieces of artisty. This style of parquetry work inspired of a similar look that was a trend in Mid Century Modern design in the mid 20th century as well. It has a brutalist feel. All very beautiful works!
