By all … more In all honesty I am not sure Federal is the correct style for this mirror, possibly Adams style. By all means if you know please message me and educate me. What I do know is that it is very old, somewhat primitive yet elegant, and totally charming. I love the pretty ladies strolling in their garden. The painting is not reverse like eglomise, it is painted directly on the mirror surface. The gilded trim is plaster over wood and delicate. There are some missing or chipped pieces, but hanging up it looks fabulous. On the very top crown I cannot determine if there is anything missing or just some chipping but again it does not distract from this mirror. My absolute favorite thing about it is the antiqued patina of the mirror silvering. I adore old mirrors with the silvering coming off, it's such a charming look. less
