19th Century French Louis XIV Marble Top Walnut Display Buffet for those who wish to possess an exquisitely rendered, beautifully styled focal centerpiece to a room that performs multiple critical functions! Styled in the manner of the Sun King, its timeless lines were rendered in hand-select sumptuous French walnut, and carved to perfection with shell, acanthus foliate, bellflower and scrollwork designs. Consisting of three sections, it features discreet storage on the left and right with tailored drawers accessed with a key as a pull positioned over spacious side cabinets lavished with the aforementioned detailing, that open to reveal surprising storage. The center section which steps front slightly via cornerposts set at 45 degrees and carved with shell, floral and foliate motifs, is fitted with a single door that is fully glazed with beveled glass, with an interior fitted with a glass shelf and mirrored floor, sides and back to showcase particular items of interest, family heirlooms or memorabilia. The apron across the facade is lavished with shell and foliates, scrolled legs set at 45 degrees and carved with paw feet. An exquisitely veined marble top has been contoured and beveled to follow the step-front casework below, providing the ultimate in carefree elegance for display or serving. A fine example of French expression rendered by German immigrants who set up shop in Paris and continued generations of furniture crafting excellence!
