Probably started it's life as an armoire. The finish has normal wear, scratches, and variations due to light exposure. Expected wood shrinkage. The wear is normal and appropriate to an item of this age. See the photos for further details and feel free to email me with any questions prior to purchase. There are reflections in the photographs. This china cabinet / breakfront exceptionally beautiful and impressive piece showcases the formal French style with wonderful design elements. It has ormolu mounts, beveled glass on the doors, geometric inlaid medallions, fluted columns, and sides with quartered book matched sides.
It is an original antique piece and not a later reproduction. Probably started as an armoire and was modified many years ago into an amazing china cabinet.
Glass shelves are adjustable. 4 shelves in the middle section. 5 shelves on the left side and 3 shelves on the right (for the display of taller items.)
Height is about 96 1/4 inch, width is about 76 inch, and depth is about 21 inch.
Technically this piece is a breakdown item which could disassemble for transportation. However, a very experienced antique furniture assembler would be required.
It is an extremely rare, versatile, beautiful and very well made piece of furniture. less
