Circa Mid to Late 19th Century. The Box is Completely Hand Made Out of Steel and it Still Retains its All Original Hand Painted Dark Ruby Red with Slightly Lighter Red Pin Striping & Dark Blue Trim Features. The Front has Classic Style Hand Gold Painted Lettering that Reads - Dr, 0. BENEDICT. The Top has its Original Solid Brass Swing Carry Handle. The Front Lock Key Hole Plate - "Escutcheon" is Sold Brass and Original as well. The Original Internal Locking Mechanism appears to be Intact but Note! That No Key is Included. The Box is in Good Sturdy - Functional Condition. The Hinge is in Good Working Order and The Lid Closes Securely. The Paint Does Have Some Chips & Scratches. I Purchased this Piece on One of my Recent Picking Adventures in The Up State New York Finger Lakes region.
It Measures Overall 6 1/2 inches Tall ( Including Brass Carry Handle ) x 14 inches Long x 9 3/4 inches Wide.
