A set of six ceramic mugs in the Carnival pattern for Kato Kogei’s Fujimori Collection. Fujimori was born in Japan in 1935 and won the National Art Award when he was just 19. He later worked in Chicago as a ceramics designer before returning to Japan in 1963. As Art Director for Kato Kogei Ceramics, he oversaw the design and distribution of his signature line. These pieces are perfect 1980s postmodern with a heavy dose of Memphis Milano influence, including geometric shapes and pops of vibrant color.
In very good vintage condition with slight shelf wear. Signed on underside.
