Finely crafted, hand thrown stoneware "mizusashi", or water jar used in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Has a intriguing, sculptural form, decorated with what looks to be albany slip and cobalt, with matched lid. This piece is salt glaze fired, yielding a wonderful texture.
Measures 6.5”x 5.5 and is in excellent condition. No chips or cracks, has wear to foot ring. Incise marked KM to foot, undated. less
