A tawa is a traditional Indian cooking pan in the form of a heavy, wide skillet with low sides and a long handle used to make flatbreads, tikkis and pancakes. This antique example has typical low, concave sides with a long, flat handle and pointed, down-turned terminal used to rest on a table.
