Purchased in the early 1960s at a shop on London's famed Pimlico Road, this endearing miniature of a British chimney sweep will add a touch of whimsy and endearment to any decor.
Hand carved from wood, he even has his ladder at the ready! It's separate from the figurine, but easily drapes over his arm, and acts to hold the figurine upright. The dimensions listed are for the chimney sweep by himself. The chimney sweep and ladder together are 4 inches by 4.5 inches, and 6.5 inches tall. The separate ladder is 6.5 inches tall and 1.5 inches wide.
His face has a happy smile, rosy cheeks, and charming detail. Even his faded clothing shows the effects of his dusty job (in other words, the figurine does NOT need cleaning!)
The little fellow has one hand in his pants pocket, and he's carrying a whisk broom under his arm. Lots of personality, and as the photos show, he can fit in practically anywhere -- even on a windowsill!
Please understand that it takes a little bit of maneuvering to get him set up, but when you do, he will surely delight! I've never had to do this, but one idea is to put a dot of Museum Putty under each foot. Since he is so lightweight, that will readily stabilize him. less
