This set is special. Here is a sturdy set of 6 wrought iron garden chairs and table, hand crafted mid-century. Unlike the mass-produced types of its time, this set is solid and timeless. A round table base is bordered by a traditional swirl design lip, which mirrors the heart design of the chair backs. Each chair features a cabriole leg shape and utterly French overall appearance. Four of the chairs have a thick scalloped circular shape seat that holds a round wood form. The two "captain" chairs have a thinner scalloped base and sit about 1 inch higher than the others. All have been upholstered with underlying cushions. They are currently covered in black and white vinyl fabric, but the options for customization are endless.
Professionally sand blasted and powder coated in a satin black two years ago, as well as reupholstery of the seats at that time.
The table can receive your custom cut glass to fit inside the lip. This has been part of my personal collection for many years. It functioned well for gatherings with a larger custom cut tempered glass top that was larger than the base which rested on the upper edge, creating a larger round table. Glass may be cut with a center hole and utilized with a stand underneath to support an umbrella.
This set is sold without the glass.
Condition note:
One of the pieces upon which the seat base rests needs to be welded back in place (see photo). Seat bases are not currently attached to the chairs with screws, which is an option for your upholstery expert, if desired.
