Gorgeous medium brown patina with convex dark wood-possibly … more Fantastic Civil War --or before?-- hand made powder horn with natural curve. Gorgeous medium brown patina with convex dark wood-possibly walnut-snugly fit base and tapered bottle nose for pouring. The base has three small holes which likely held a metal loop to attach the suspension cord. The cord would also be tied around the notched neck for easy underarm carry. The horn is translucent when held up to a light. There appears to be a signature on one side towards the base, as shown in the last picture under magnified light.
