In this expressive small painting, the beauty of a magnolia tree is captured just before full bloom. Taking a close up perspective on the tree a wonderous arrangement is shared with sensitivity and movement. Beautiful branches linger quietly in the soft blue greys of the background sky. Touched with vibrant passes of pink and violet the blooms tell their story with passion, letting nature takes it's course.

The painting was inspired this spring as my magnolia tree evolved into it's bloom. I captured this the night before an unexpected frost which "crushed" all the pink blooms for this season. It's one of my favorite trees and must be about 40 years old or more.
The artwork was painted on a gallery wrapped canvas that can be hung framed or unframed. less
