We were offered to take a look at a collection of antique picture frames and mirrors found in the attic of an old farmhouse on the coast of Maine that was to undergo restoration. We ended up taking the whole lot because several were in very good shape and others had potential. Most all are from the middle to late 19th century and a few of the frames still retained hand drawn portraits. All pieces were inspected
for any damage and in some cases nails were hammered back in and touch-up paint was applied where needed.
This mirror needed nothing but some dusting off and glass cleaning to prepare it for this listing. It last hung on a wall but could be put on a dresser or on floor leaning against a wall. The first picture is an attempt at a fake background for the mirror as it was reflecting the background and taking away from what is being shown. The rest of the pictures are natural and show a reflection of a white sheet.
The wood is all in very good condition with no damage beyond an old chip out of a back corner and the glass has a couple small scratches, otherwise it is fine. The mirror beneath has a few small dark spots/specks on the lower, right side that can be seen in the pictures and the rest is in nice shape overall. The paint looks good. There is some slight wear to the paint on the outer edges but they are minor and there is no chipping or pealing to be found. Please see the pictures for further details.
