Very well constructed with dovetailed details and an accordion-style extension.
When the box is fully extended, there are two cube storage compartments per side and an open, undivided compartment on the bottom, offering ample space for sewing / knitting accessories.
The oak has been conservatively refinished; the ebony paint is original. Light wear remains (few light scuffs to the wood).
