Chinese porcelain Ru Yao Buddhist symbol vase, a vase in the form of one of the Ashtamangalas, The Double Golden Fish, glazed in a Song period duck-egg blue on the exterior, interior and inset base, all covered with a fine pattern, light burnt umber craquelure. The lip, serrated fins, raised scales, and raised ring at the foot are all highlighted with a light burnt umber glaze. The inset base has a centered, unglazed, finely carved medallion with a five line Chinese poem within ornate double circles. The traditional, Chinese finely carved, hongmu rectangular stand is included. Circa early 20th century no later than mid century.
