A rare set of three John Wisner for Ficks Reed hexagonal coffee tables that can be placed into various configurations.
Each table measures 16.5" high, 22.75" wide, and 26.25" deep.
John Wisner graduated from Parsons School Of Design in 1935 and designed for both private clients, and corporate clients including Dorothy Draper and Ficks Reed, where he was noted for his ‘Far Horizons’ collection of 1954 which incorporated eastern elements. This classic piece of Eastern influenced modern American design boasts beautifully crafted bamboo and rattan with weaved sculptured joints.
Ficks Reed was founded by Louis Ficks in 1885 as the National Carriage and Reed Company, a New York purveyor of wicker baby carriages. By the turn of the century, however, the company had moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, and, under the auspices of Ficks Reed, began manufacturing furniture with wicker, rattan and bamboo.
