This Richard Bernstein very rare vintage 1974 " Romantic and Glamorous Hollywood Design " lithograph print iconic Pop Art exhibition poster from The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The lithograph print poster was printed in 1974 to accompany the exhibition curated by the legendary fashion editor Dianna Vreeland at The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute in New York in 1974. The poster features the famous Hollywood performing duo Rita Hayworth and Fred Estaire from the 1942 film " You Were Never Lovelier ", in Bernstein's signature vibrant Pop Art style.
Richard Bernstein ( 1939 - 2002 ) most widely known as the creator of Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine's distinctive covers for 17 years. His paintings with their foundation in Pop Art and classical portraiture offer a synthesis of style that is strikingly powerful.
In 1984 Bernstein released his first book " Megastar " commemorating his fine celebrity portraits. The first edition of the coffee table book, printed in three languages was completely sold out making it a valuable collector's item.
In 1990 Bernstein was commissioned by The World Federation of The United Nations Association to create the first postal stamp for the new decade, placing him in the company of Warhol, Calder, and Picasso who have been similarly honored. The artworks of Bernstein can be seen the the exhibitions and collections of any prestigious museums worldwide.
The rare out of print lithograph print Pop Art exhibition poster measures 34 1/2" W X 37 1/2" H. It is printed on high quality heavyweight paper stock with vibrant ink colors in a satin eggshell finish.
