Presenting a one-of-a kind hand painted Victorian vanity set which includes a tray, powder dish, and hair collector. These items were often found on the vanity of ladies from the Victorian Era through Mid-Century. The closed covered dish was intended to hold powder or lotions, the open dish was intended to hold hair collected from a woman's hairbrush. Once enough hair was collected, it was repurposed to fashion a hairstyle known as a "bird's nest."
This set boasts exceptionally beautiful artwork, hand painted in pastel colors, framed by a lovely powder ceil blue. Floral accents are in the form of forget-me-not blossoms. The final touch of curvilinear white accents contrasted with a trellis and dot design in relief lend an ethereal composition.
