This folio size (13.5" x 19.25") etching by George Cuitt (England 1779-1854 Listed) depicts a landscape featuring the ruins of an interesting architectural landmark. Beautifully executed with great proportions. Printed on one side only in England. Great for a huge wall treatment or several smaller groupings.
George Cuitt the Younger, the only son of the painter of the same names, was born at Richmond, in Yorkshire, in 1779. He followed his father's profession from his youth, and added to it the art of etching, which he developed with great success, being induced to do so by a careful study of Piranesi's 'Roman Antiquities.'
