Antique Sterling Soup Ladle Whiting Manufacturing Co Pompadour Pattern Circa 1895. This ladle is monogrammed McC. This antique soup ladle was deigned by Charles Osborne for Whiting Manufacturing. Charles Osborne was the most famous and important designer for the company. In the 1880's he worked for Tiffany for a period of time before returning to Whiting. His designs are some of the most important of the American aesthetic movement. Whiting was absorded by Gorham in 1926.
This is a gorgeous piece to be displayed and used. A piece of true value to be passed down for generations.
