The urn does not function as a vase or ewer, simply a decorative piece. On the rear of the urn there is a white spot which I suspect is a rub mark, and it not a reflection as it may appear in the photos. Also when observing the piece from the side, it has a lop-sided form which leans due to the mount connection (may possibly be correctible). less

Early 20th Century, Victorian Mantel Ewer, Hand Painted Art Glass Body, Painted Spelter Cast Metal Mount, French Style, 16.75" High
A Decorative Mantel Ewer which dates to approximately early 20th Century. The body of the piece is I believe to be glass rather than porcelain. It has a hand painted decorative floral display on the front depicting a white and red dogwood flower, and on the rear simply a leaf. The gradiating shades from an ecru shade the the base strengthens and deepens as it reaches the top in a burnt auburn or rust shade. This is a tall stately piece measuring 16.75" High. The metal appears to be a painted spelter, or 'cast metal' which is 'chippy'. It has a very ornate baroque style spout, handle, and base.
Size: 16.75" High, Base is 4.75" Diameter and the middle most bulbous area of the glass urn is 4" in diameter.
Condition: Unmarked, Unknown Origin. The metal is chippy and underside mount is rusty.
