Beautiful and particular pair of French vases in white porcelain with handles; their shape is elegant and refined; in the central part are represented different varieties of flowers hand-painted with meticulous care and artistic skill by a talented painter miniaturist, are also aesthetically well distributed; the colors of flowers and leaves are exceptionally real and alive, it almost seems to be able to grasp and taste the scent; the neck, the edge, the base, and the elegant handles are finished with pure gold decorations. A small curiosity: the back is practically devoid of any decoration except for a few flowers and leaves painted in a light and approximate way; surely they were commissioned by the customer to be made just in this way because they had to be placed in a niche or in a place where only the front was visible and enjoyable and it was so useless and more than anything else expensive to paint the back. They were produced by master craftsmen of the "Porcelain de Paris" between 1854 and 1860 respecting the ancient traditions and the raw material (kaolin). The vases are marked with the imprinted model mark (number 367/10). “Porcelain de Paris” is a term that refers collectively to the various porcelain decorating workshops and studios within and around Paris, France. It is not the name of any single company or producer and is usually applied to craft objects of excellent workmanship produced between the mid and late nineteenth century. The makers are in some cases obscure and generally unknown or have created only a few rare pieces. Antique porcelain objects from Paris are the most desired by collectors and are present in many museums around the world. The vases are in good condition only in some parts the pure gold appears worn, but this makes the two objects much more fascinating and historically interesting.
