Fabulous vintage Drexel Weatherwood Collection Campaign cabinet style nightstands or end or side tables with brass plated hardware. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The top of one cabinet has a tiny splinter in the edge of the veneer on the front groove and minute bubbling of the veneer edge in that same groove. What have we here??? We have a Devilishly Handsome pair of Drexel nightstands or end tables from the Weatherwood Collection to offer to you!!! They are comprised of square frames covered in a gorgeous wood veneer with a unique rather distressed finish. There are even faux saw marks in the grain which are indicative of the “weatherwood” finish. They have two drawers featuring brass plated escutcheons with a lovely keyhole design. They’re going to be wonderful in your bedroom as nightstands or one on each side of your sofa in the living room hosting a gorgeous pair of table lamps. Or you could separate them and use one in your entry way under a fabulous piece of art and one in the sitting room next to your lounge chair. Their charming Campaign Style will blend in beautifully with many styles of décor and they’re from a popular line by an iconic manufacturer, so you know they are classic, timeless, high-quality pieces.
Drexel Furniture Company was founded in 1903 in Drexel, North Carolina by six businessmen for a total investment of $14,000.00. Sam Huffman, one of the initial founders, managed the enterprise until his death in 1935 when his son, Robert O. Huffman took the helm. By 1950 under the younger Huffman’s leadership Drexel had grown from a small factory to a leader in furniture manufacturing. They acquired other furniture companies along the way and by the late 1950s employed 2300 workers. The 1960s had them adding industrial and hospitality furniture to their lines. In 1968 they were purchased, and Drexel Enterprises became Drexel Heritage Furnishings, Inc. They continued to add to their styles and lines and were sold again and then in 1986 became part of Masco Corporation one of the country’s largest furniture manufacturers. Drexel closed its doors in 2020.
