This large cartouche panel was carved from wood and hand-painted with a central coat of arms in Italy during the … Read more This large cartouche panel was carved from wood and hand-painted with a central coat of arms in Italy during the 1700’s. Inspired by a 16th century French style shield, the escutcheon is surrounded by a gold border and emblazoned with a red and white pily barry charge. The shield is topped by a pair of volute scrolls and has a foliate compartment that flares outward as it rises. Above the volutes is a plumed armet with red, white, and green feathers. Our large painted Tuscan cartouche panel would make an exceptional wall-mounted decorative object. See less
