This 1920's Le Verre Francais Papillons Butterfly Cameo Art Glass Water Pitcher Signed has stunning color in mottled coral orange and brown on frosted clear depicting butterflies encircling the shoulder of the pitcher. It is further decorated with a coral orange honeycomb border surrounding the bottom half, all set against a mottled blue shading to cream background. The vase is completed with an applied black amethyst purple glass handle. Signed on the edge of foot “Le Verre Francais”.
I inherited this stunning art glass piece from my grandmother who inherited it from her uncle in 1973. He was an art glass collector in California. I have inherited about 50 pieces from his extensive collection and will list many of them for sale.
It measures 8" tall and is 7" in diameter. The shape is bulbous.
This art deco pitcher was designed by Charles Schneider in the 1920's.
Signed and in excellent condition.
