One of the finest raptor wood carvings I've ever found. Left leg has a repair that could be restored or left as is. Does not come with a stand or base. Shown propped on an antique wood block. He tucks nicely anywhere I place him. I love his face, carved breast, yellow beak and glass eyes, but the real magic is in his extraordinarily detailed back feathers. He is meticulously carved front and back with subtle paint and stain.

I was lucky to acquire this piece from the maker's son, a master carver based in Pennsylvania. I wish I had more information about this craftsman. This was one of very few pieces available from the family collection. less
