As Director for Art Education, he created the first diversified art education program for the Seattle Public Schools. He was a member of the Washington Art Association, Pacific Art Association, and a Distinguished Fellow of the National Art Education Association. An award winning painter (who continued to paint until the age of 92), he was a contemporary and friend of the artists who founded the noted Pacific Northwest School of Painting in the late 1930's. His paintings have been exhibited in solo and juried shows. They are in collections all over the country, as well as in Beijing, China.

Dale Goss resided and painted at his art studio at his waterfront home along Mission Beach at the Tulalip Indian Reservation in Marysville, Washington. Upon his retirement, he divided his time between his home and art studio in Washington with his winter home and art studio in Tumacacori, Arizona. less
