Ken Benson LS (Life Style)Cameo Art Glass Vase designed for Pilgrim Glass Corp. 7 1/2” tall, 6” at widest.
Pilgrim Glass Corporation was established in Ceredo, W.Va., in 1949 by Alfred Knobler. Knobler brought in many talented artists including Alessandro and Roberto Moretti and it became known for its many rare colors of glass. In 1987, Kelsey Murphy and Robert Bomkamp joined the company and soon began experimenting with the cameo glass technique with the help of Ken Benson. In the 14 remaining years of glass production at Pilgrim created hundreds of designs and pioneered a new tradition of “American Super Cameo.”
This vase is a wonderful example of his work. No chips, flea bites or cracks. Surface wear consistent with age and use. There’s a mark on the side which isn’t a scratch, see last picture.
