It is solid brass and heavy. The detailed castings of the handles are fabulous with some sort of bird or reptile. The ornate carved brass stand (on 4 little feet) has lovely detail. The back is stamped with B & H 7034. I purchased this even without the glass ink inserts that would normally go with this because I loved the beautiful detail. I used it as a stand and put a vase with a base that covered the holes.
This inkwell is 14” long from handle to handle and it is 8 ½” wide. From the bottom of the feet to the top of the tray is about 1 ½” less
