There are 120 crystals for this piece, you can put them all on and it would be super showy and opulent or you can put just a few on for some sparkle, it's all up to you. The crystals are a mix of 2 inch and 1.5 inch, you can put the small ones at the top and work down with the large ones or just randomly attach them. Lovely either way. I love how graceful this looks. I am not sure of the age of this item but it was purchased over 30 years ago in an antique shop near Charleston SC. less
