This Pablo Picasso rare vintage 1977 Mid Century Modern Cubist lithograph print custom framed Spanish Museum exhibition poster " Mujer ( Estudio Para Las Senoritas De Avinon ) " 1907, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Mid Century Modern exhibition poster print is published by The Fundacion Juan March, Madrid Spain. Printed in Spain in 1977 in an unnumbered limited edition on the occasion of the exhibition. It features an artwork image originally created by Picasso in 1907 titled " Mujer ( Estudio Para Las Senoritas De Avinon ) ", Woman ( Study for the Ladies of Avinon ).
Pablo Picasso ( 1881 - 1973 ) was a Spanish born painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, poet and playwright who spent most of his life in France. He is regarded as one of the most important and influential artists of The Twentieth Century. Exceptionally prolific throughout the course of his long life, Picasso achieved universal renown and immense fortune for his revolutionary artistic accomplishments, and became one of the most well known figures in 20th Century Art.
In 1977 The Fundacion Juan March in Madrid presented a major solo exhibition of the work of Pablo Picasso, which was the first paintings exhibition by the artist to be offered in Madrid since 1936. The exhibition included works created between 1901 to 1968 that showed how Picasso had remained in deep exploration of diverse artistic disciplines for most of his extensive career. The works exhibited exemplified many of Picasso's most important and iconic artworks from his different styles and periods including the famous Cubist masterpiece " Las Senoritas Des Avignon " 1907, and the the related painting " Woman ( Study for The Ladies of Avignon ) ", the artwork image that is features in this exhibition poster.
The rare out of print lithograph print framed Spanish Museum exhibition poster measures 23 1/2" W X 36 3/8" H X 1 1/4" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern satin finish dark walnut stained wood box style frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " very clean condition consistent with age and very light signs of handling.
