From The Cantagalli Pottery in Florence, Italy, a charming hand painted earthenware cup and saucer set, showing the Crowing Rooster mark used in the early 20th Century.
Beautifully painted in the Renaissance Revival style with a blue ribbon and floral garland, on a creamy white ground. The saucers have a raised scalloped border, a molded cup holder, and are oval shaped with enough room for a small sweet. The footed, fluted cups are decorated on the inside and out with a corresponding running ribbon and floral pattern, with green lining on the handle.
The Cantagalli family operated their pottery works in Florence beginning in the 15th Century until the pottery closed its doors in 1985.
Saucers: 7.5 in. L x 5 in. W x .50 in. H
Cups: 3.25 in. Diameter x 2.5 in. H
All pieces are marked with the painted Rooster logo.
Multiple sets are available, offered individually, all without issue. less
