The offset lithograph print is published by Te Neues Publishing Company with the authorized licensed rights of The Estate and Foundation for Visual Arts of Andy Warhol, printed in Germany in 1990 in an unnumbered limited edition. It features an iconic portrait artwork image originally created by Warhol in 1986 titled " John Lennon ".

Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, artworks, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. He is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. His technique utilizing a silkscreen method combined with hand finishing in a signature palette fo vibrant color hues make the works stand on its own and loved by millions.

John Lennon ( 1940 - 1980 ) was an award winning English born singer, song writer and peace activist who gained worldwide fame as the founder, co lead vocalist, and rhythm guitarist of the band The Beatles. His songwriting partnership with Paul McCartney remains the most successful in music history.

Andy Warhol became close friends with John Lennon throughout the 1970's. It was a time for the world's most eccentric artists to shine. Warhol was at the forefront of the Pop Art world in which musical icons were often his muse.

In 1986 Yoko Ono, John's wife approached Warhol with photographs by Ian Macmillian who also photographed the cover of The Beatles Abbey Road Album. Ono asked Andy to paint portraits of John based on those photos for the cover of the posthumously released John Lennon's 1986 album " Menlove Ave ". The result was an iconic collaborative image of two of the greatest creative artists of The 20th Century.

The rare out of print framed offset lithograph Pop Art print measures 13 1/2" W X 17" H X 1" D. It is custom framed with glass in a Contemporary Modern navy marine blue matte eggshell finish wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent " like new " condition. The print is in excellent " like new " very clean condition with light signs of handling. It is brand newly custom framed and has never been displayed. Please see photos for condition reference. It is now being offered here for an excellent price. See less
