Description: This is a very rare and interesting eclectic wood revival cabinet with conical pillar feet from the Victorian era and … more This is a very rare and interesting eclectic wood revival cabinet with conical pillar feet from the Victorian era and hand-painted doors. The historic Renaissance style was adopted in this late 19th Century piece. Renaissance Revival architecture (sometimes referred to as "Neo-Renaissance") describes 19th century architectural revival styles which were neither Romaneque Revival nor Gothic Revival but which instead drew inspiration from a wide range of classicizing Italian modes. Under the broad designation Renaissance architecture nineteenth-century architects and critics went beyond the architectural style which began in Florence and central Italy in the early 15th century.
This lovely antique cabinet once has a sticker on the back but it is worn off. It is, although, believed to be made in Italy.
The hand paintings are so beautiful with figures and trees. The woodwork trim throughout the piece is stunning and so architectural.
There is also a drawer and a lower shelf. There is an adjustable shelf in the cabinet as well.
It is a stunning and rare work of art cabinet.
It stands 52” tall and the top is 28” wide by 18” deep. It is wonderful condition for the age. There are some light scratches and such, but again, so beautifully kept for the old age of this piece. less
