History of Melamine: During the 1930’s “melamine”, a plastic powder raw material hit a record low in price. Many companies, worried about the threat of impending war that would bring financial restraints, jumped on the bandwagon to make functional and commercial products.

Another innovative corporation “American Cyanamid Company” did a wonderful advertising campaign on “Look Magazine”, touting their products as “Melmac”, which are one as the same - made of Melamine! less
