This really is a Great Looking Antique American Glass Front Cabinet. Circa Late 19th Century. This Small Size Cabinet ( Measures Overall 25 inches Tall x 16 inches Long x 9 inches Wide ) would have used in a Merchants - Country Store Setting. Because of the Small Paper labels that read MINT - LIME, LEMON, ORANGE, CHERRY It would have been Used to Sell and Display Flavoring Extracts, Spices, Etc. The Outer Cabinet is Completely Hand Made out of Solid Indigenous North American Chestnut Wood. The Divided - Fitted Sectional Interior is made Out of a Different Wood - Most Likely Beech or Alder. This piece would have been made by an Experienced Cabinet Maker as the Exceptionally Nice Attention to Detail in the Overall Construction would indicate. It is Originally Designed to Sit - Display on a Table - Counter Top, Etc., but it Could Also be Displayed as Hung on a Wall. It Still Retains its Original Beautifully Aged Honey Color Varnished Surfaces giving it a Wonderful Authentic Old Look. It Also has its Original Cast Iron Spring Loaded Slide Type Door Latch. I Discovered this piece on one of my recent Picking Adventures in the Down East Coastal Maine Region. It is in Very Nice All Original Condition - Displays Beautifully.
It Measures Overall 25 inches Tall x 16 inches Long x 9 inches Wide.
The Cabinet - Center Display Section Measures 14 1/4 inches Long x 8 1/4 inches Wide - Deep.
