In a dreamlike and art deco, this great cut is an Elchinger production in Alsace in Alsace. Ornate in its center of a pegs and decorative motifs in relief, it is an original ceramic. Powerful piece and full of personality, this ceramic with abstract decor carries in it a particular energy.
The large dish or cup table center is in very good condition. He is numbered and wears a hollow signature upside down.
30cm in diameter, 4cm high.
"Elchinger ceramics" is a family business installed in Barnheim in Alsace in 1834. Since that time, generations follow one another and offer a production as varied as before-garde. Léon Elchinger (1871-1942) will mark the spirits by productions of artistic strands, as well as beautiful Art Nouveau pottery then art deco, with the beautiful colors and glow. Less known than Chambost, Rueland, Jouve and Capron, Fernand Elchinger (1911-1975) will be one of the great mid-century ceramists. We are a fan of its free forms productions, "handkerchief" vases and especially games of contrast between deep blacks and yolks, red or bright green!
