It has traditional Chinese characters around the outside of the drum, and on the top of the stretched leather drum surface, as well as the address in English, showing it belonged to someone in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Solid brass handles, hand stretched leather top, wrought iron large head nails around the entire perimeter, this drum is just amazing!

This drum would make an EXCELLENT coffee table, either with or without a glass top. It measures 29" in diameter and 23 1/4" tall.

It is in overall very good vintage condition as you can see in the photographs. There is some loss to the red lacquer along the banding as you can see, mild separation to the wood staves, and general wear and tear from being beaten with drumsticks on a boat for a few decades! less
